Just bought a new hardrive for this because the one inside stopped working.
Western Digital Scorpio Blue 160GB 5400rpm, seems to be working fine now. Also changed the OS to kubuntu 9.10. Much faster than with windows :) Installation went like a charm.
I bought a new HP 2230s 12" notebook today. Vista pre installed (going to change to kubuntu as soon as possible), but still a very nice package.
